Helping Southern Nevadans Brew Better Beer Since 1989

SNAFU - Southern Nevada Ale Fermentors Union

Announcing the all new SNAFUbrew.com website

The Southern Nevada Ale Fermenters Union (SNAFU) is the largest homebrewing club in Southern Nevada.

Their mission is to help their members make better beer (Mead and Cider as well) and educate the public about homebrewing and craft beer. Meetings are held every second Friday of the month at Aces and Ales, 3740 S. Nellis Blvd., Las Vegas, NV (directions). Meetings start at around 7:30 PM.

Meetings are very informal. After taking care of club business, members enjoy each other’s company and (of course) homebrew! Don’t worry if you don’t know anyone at the meeting; they’ll welcome you with a homebrew (or two).  This is a great opportunity to get feedback on your beers since they have a number of BJCP judges who will be happy to give you honest feedback on your beer, and ways to improve it.  You can also learn as they all tell our own “Disasters in Homebrewing” stories (admit it, we all have them!).

Educational Opportunities:

SNAFU features educational opportunities at other times of the month at the SNAFU “Gauntlets” and other events. The Gauntlets are a chance to have your homebrew analyzed by BJCP judges without going through the trouble of entering a competition. It also gives aspiring judges a chance to challenge their senses and command of the English language through practice score sheets. Each month they cover a different subject relevant to homebrewing that will hopefully enlighten a few members.

Visit SNAFUbrew.com to learn more. We’ll look forward to meeting you there.

Cheers!
