“Aces and Ales just released one of our collaboration beers we did with local craft brewer, Big Dog’s Brewery. They are the oldest brewery in Las Vegas.”
We did a chocolate mint stout made with actual Girl Scout cookies. We put forty-eight boxes of Girl Scout cookies went into the beer, breaking the record for the amount of grain, at Big Dogs, to ever put into a beer, at 2,007 pounds.
This beer came out absolutely amazingly balanced, not too sweet, not too bitter; the mint comes through, the chocolate comes through, it is just so sessionable at 9.3 percent alcohol content (ABV*). Super limited – we released only three kegs of it; two here at Aces and Ales, one over at Big Dog’s.
The rest of it all got pumped into barrels. We have two rum barrels, we have two Smoked Wagon Bourbon barrels, and we have two Heaven Hill Bourbon barrels. We look forward to tapping these barrels this coming October for our local beer appreciation month.
Editor’s note: We sampled a glass of this fun brew while shooting Mitch’s video series. It was beyond fantastic! I, for one, am ready for another.
